About Gakartuleba.org
Gakartuleba.org is a noncommercial project supporting the Georgian localization of various open source, noncommercial and popular commercial software, systems and resources as well as introduction of Georgian language support.
Gakartuleba.org also supports the widespread of localized software and platforms in Georgia and representation of Georgian language and culture on various internationally acclaimed online and offline resources.
The people participating in various Gakartuleba.org prjects (l10n projects among them) are volunteers who would like to support the introduction of Georgian language on various products.
The current Gakartuleba.org project is based on AGS project, led by Noshre Chkhaidze (aka Aiet Kolkhi), which has been supporting Georgian l10n projects since 1998.
Some of the successfull Georgian l10n projects include Opera Browser in Georgian (the first internationally acclaimed software with official Georgian support, as well as the first Georgian internet browser), Google Search Engine in Georgian, Introduction of Georgian language support on GNU/Linux console and various Desktop Environments, and Georgian multimedia players XMMS and Winamp.
